About the Role

We’re looking for a talented, curious, and motivated Engineering Manager to lead a backend engineering team responsible for a large and growing ecosystem of third-party integrations.

This role combines people leadership with hands-on technical involvement. You’ll lead by example, raise the bar for engineering execution, mentor engineers, and help the team focus on the highest-value work.

The team ships quickly and frequently works directly with customers and integration partners to solve new use cases.

What You’ll Own

Managing hundreds of integrations

  • Prioritize requests for new integrations and improvements to existing ones.
  • Balance immediate customer and business needs with longer-term platform improvements.
  • Establish scalable patterns and processes for building and maintaining integrations.

Performance & scalability

  • Improve the speed and reliability of large-scale data synchronization.
  • Work across HTTP APIs, file transfers, data warehouses, and other external systems.
  • Optimize through parallelism, batching, rate-limit detection, caching, and algorithmic improvements.
  • Help the team design systems that remain reliable as data volume and customer usage grow.

Engineering productivity & AI

  • Explore how modern AI tools can improve developer productivity and engineering quality.
  • Help the team adopt effective AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive engineering work and accelerate delivery.

People & technical leadership

  • Mentor and develop engineers across different levels.
  • Provide technical direction while maintaining a high degree of team autonomy.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions.
  • Help establish engineering standards and raise the bar for technical execution.
  • Partner closely with Product and other engineering teams to prioritize customer impact.

What We’re Looking For

  • 6+ years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineers or technical teams.
  • Strong backend engineering fundamentals and experience with production systems.
  • Comfortable remaining hands-on technically while managing a team.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, scalability, reliability, and system design.
  • Experience working with third-party APIs, integrations, data platforms, or similar infrastructure.
  • Strong product mindset and ability to prioritize based on customer and business impact.
  • Able to reason from first principles and make clear decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Passionate about mentoring engineers and developing high-performing teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with significant autonomy.

Strong Bonus

  • Experience building or scaling a platform with hundreds of API integrations.
  • Experience with data movement, ETL/ELT, CDPs, data warehouses, or customer data platforms.
  • Experience with high-volume synchronization or distributed data pipelines.
  • Experience introducing AI-assisted engineering workflows.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $200K–$320K base salary
  • Highly competitive equity
  • Visa sponsorship available, including H-1B transfer, TN, and O-1
