Senior Backend Engineer – Growth & Experimentation

This is an opportunity to join a brand-new Growth Engineering squad and have direct ownership over backend systems that impact activation, conversion, retention, and revenue.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience, with strong expertise in Go/Golang, to own the backend experimentation engine behind our growth initiatives.

You’ll work closely with a Product Manager and frontend engineer to launch experiments quickly, measure their impact, and iterate based on real customer and business data.

This is a highly hands-on role where you’ll work directly on important product flows and have significant ownership over the backend.

What You’ll Do

  • Ship backend experiments directly into production at a high pace.
  • Build and test pricing, onboarding, activation, and credit-related experiments.
  • Own critical backend functionality around payments, authentication, signup/login, and credit usage.
  • Instrument systems with analytics and metrics to understand experiment performance.
  • Partner closely with Product and Design to prioritize and execute A/B tests.
  • Turn successful experiments into clean, production-grade systems.
  • Remove or iterate on experiments that don’t deliver results.
  • Improve backend performance, reliability, and scalability as the product grows.
  • Contribute to technical decisions and help shape engineering practices within the Growth squad.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Strong professional experience with Go/Golang.
  • Solid experience with PostgreSQL and backend data systems.
  • Experience building and operating production APIs and distributed systems.
  • Comfortable working with analytics, instrumentation, and experimentation.
  • Strong product mindset — you care about business outcomes, not just shipping code.
  • Comfortable moving quickly and iterating directly in production.
  • Experience working closely with Product, Design, and other engineering functions.
  • Strong ownership and ability to operate independently.

Tech Stack

Go/Golang, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Docker, GitHub Actions, Grafana, and cloud infrastructure.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $145K–$180K base salary
  • Quarterly performance bonus tied to company revenue performance
  • No equity component
  • Fully remote
  • Candidates must be able to work primarily within US Eastern Time hours
  • Open to candidates in the US, Canada, Latin America, and Europe
  • Full-time position
