About the Company
A modern data infrastructure platform serving one of the world’s largest industries — construction. The company has 550+ paying customers on 1-3 year contracts, has been profitable and cash-flow positive since 2023, and is growing 10% monthly. Backed by top-tier VCs with investors who have operated at some of the most well-known construction and fintech software companies globally. The founding team worked together for 12+ years at a company acquired by a major tech giant, then spent several years there before founding this company. 36 people, growing fast.
The platform is product-led — each product builds on the one before it, starting with data connectivity and ending with fully automated workflows: ERP Sync, AP Automation, Expense Management, and Vendor Management.
About the Role
You’ll be hands-on with core backend systems, syncing financial data across fragmented legacy software in real time. The work is roughly 80-90% backend with some frontend on internal tooling that dog-foods the API.
The engineering team is intentionally flat — no traditional manager layer, no heavy specialization. You’ll own features end-to-end as an IC, talk directly to customers, and ship based on real feedback daily.
What You’ll Own
- Build and maintain the unified API layer connecting construction ERPs to modern software — legacy SQL, DLL, and API-based systems built 20-40 years ago
- Ship core backend systems across ERP Sync, AP Automation, Expense Management, and Vendor Management
- Solve real-time data sync challenges including websocket implementations for systems that lack native webhooks
- Build scalable testing frameworks across 1,000+ endpoints
- Engage directly with customers and ship features daily
Technical Environment
- Millions of API requests per day
- Dozens to hundreds of fragmented legacy systems unified under a single standard
- On-prem connectivity (SQL, DLL, API-based)
- SLA enforcement on top of unreliable legacy systems
- Cloud infrastructure on AWS
What We’re Looking For
Must Have
- 1-5 years of backend or full-stack engineering experience — exceptional new grads with strong internship experience considered
- CS degree from a strong engineering program
- Hands-on AWS or cloud infrastructure experience
- Self-motivated, high-ownership, low-ego — someone who ships without being managed
Nice to Have
- Prior startup or founding engineering experience (pre-Seed through Series C)
- Strong academic pedigree — top 20-30 university, high GPA, honors, competitive extracurriculars
- Competitive athletic background — college or high school varsity sport
- Multi-year tenure at a previous role
